Q. How do I book?
A. Just go to our homepage and select your dates on the booking engine and follow the instructions. Simple!


Q. Why is it cheaper to book online?
A. Because that’s the easiest way to reserve! We put special offers exclusively online so always book on our own hostel website if you can.


Q.Where is Kinlay House Hostel Located?
A. Kinlay House Hostel is located on Lord Edward Street, overlooking  Christchurch Cathedral. This is the west end of Temple Bar. Click here to view map


Q. What attractions are there nearby?
A. As we are located so centrally, all the major attractions of Dublin are within walking distance of the hostel. Some of the most popular ones are the Guinness Storehouse, Trinity College, Christ Church Cathedral, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, St. Stephen’s Green and the Jameson Distillery


Q. Is there a curfew?
A. No, we are open 24 hours a day and you can come and go as you please.  All guests are issued with a security pass which they must present each time they enter the building.


Q.What’s included in the price?
A. Your bed for the night, all bed linen, free hot showers 24 hours, a free light breakfast (tea, coffee, toast and juice), free WiFi & internet access and full use of all the facilities available at Kinlay. Private ensuite rooms (singles, twins) also include free towels.


Q. What are the check out and check in times?
A. Check out time is 10.00am. Guests can check in any time after 2pm. If you arrive before 2pm, you can store your bags in secure storage lockers for €2 per day.


Q. What room types do you have?
A. We have single rooms, twin rooms, triple rooms, 4 bed rooms, 5 bed rooms and 6 bed rooms (ensuite and standard). We also have an 8 ensuite room, a 12 bed dorm, a 16 bed dorm and a 20 bed dorm. We have 190 beds in total in the hostel. Book them all on our website.


Q. What is the difference between a standard and ensuite room?
A. An ensuite room has its own private bathroom with sink, shower and toilet. Standard rooms do not. Guests staying in standard rooms can use the communal shower and toilet facilities which are located on each floor. All showers and toilets in the communal bathrooms have their own private cubicles. There are separate male and female bathrooms available.


Q.What safe keeping facilities are provided?
A. We provide large luggage lockers which can be hired for only €2 per day.  We also have security lockers for smaller items such as passports, wallets and laptops also for €2 per day.


Q. Can I store my bags after I check out?
A. Yes! You can store them in the lockers after you check out for only €2 for the day. And as long as you are coming back to stay with us you can leave your luggage for up to 2 weeks as long as you prepay for the storage.


Q. What is the cancellation policy?
A. Cancellations must be received no later than 24 hours prior to arrival, otherwise your credit card will be charged for the first night.


Q. What methods of payment are accepted?
A. We accept cash, credit card (visa or masterCard), and debit cards. When making a reservation a deposit or credit card number will be required to guarantee your booking. Payment can also be made by bank transfer 10 days prior to arrival.


Q.Do I have to be a member?
A. No, you do not have to be a member of any hostel organisation, but you will need a valid photo identification to check in.


Q. Do you have any age restrictions?
A. No – everyone from 0 to 100 is welcome at Kinlay House, but please note that any guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult and cannot share dormitory rooms.
