Getting to our Dublin Hostel is as easy as 1, 2, 3
Take your pick …
FROM THE AIRPORT
1. AIRLINK - this is the easiest and fastest way to the hostel. Airlink buses leave right outside arrivals – look out for the double decker green bus. The Airlink leaves every 15 minutes from the airport from 6.00am Monday through Saturday and 7.00am on Sunday until 23.30. Check the timetable here
2. TAXI - these cost between €25-€35 and you can get one from the taxi rank just outside arrivals (be warned – you may have to queue).
3. 16 BUS – this is the cheapest option but also the longest and most tedious. The fare is €2.80 per person and you need to have exact change for the bus. The bus then tours around the suburbs for at least an hour before you get to the city centre and leaves you near Trinity College and we are a 5 minute walk from there up the street. Bus stops are not announced and you may well end up missing your stop but if you go for this option ask a local to let you know when you get close to Dame Street and then get off. We would strongly recommend getting the Airlink (option 1) for a stress free transit.
FROM THE FERRY PORTS
Please note that there are 2 ferryports in Dublin – Dun Laoghaire (serviced by Stena Line) and Dublin Ferryport (serviced by Irish Ferries). From Dun Laoghaire take the DART train to Tara Street station in the city and walk from there. From Dublin Ferryport there is a Dublin Bus service that operates to Busaras – the Dublin Bus station. We are a 15 minute walk from there (see the map for directions).
FROM THE TRAIN STATIONS
From Connolly Station: Trains from Belfast and Sligo arrive here. We are about a 15-20 minute walk from here. If you want to cut the walking time you can get the Luas Tram as far as Jervis and walk from there. Check the map for further directions.
From Heuston Station: If you are getting a train from anywhere else your train stops here. Heuston is about 1km from the city centre. You can walk to us (takes about 20 minutes) or jump on the 145 bus and get off on Ormond Quay, cross Capel Street bridge, walk up Parliament street turn right and we’re just up the road.
